Sci-Fi Calendar 2012

Tigaer's Sci-Fi Calendar 2012

It’s time for a short plug of my Science Fiction Calendar 2011. This time the included collection of art mainly focusses on SciFi pieces. Among them are personal favourites and awarded pieces like ‘Red Canyon’, ‘Phoenix Rising’, ‘Hadley’s Hope’ and ‘Gates To Elysium’. There are also some new pics in there I released this year.

It always creates a fuzzy feeling seeing these worlds on paper. Somehow it makes you want to explore these places even more deeply. Must be a good thing huh? =) So, if you don’t believe in the end of the world in 2012… BUY IT! =D

Enough talk!

Interview on DesignMotoBlog

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

movie reviewTo continue my interview streak I have to announce another nice one I did for MotoDesignBlog. The very charming Emily Williams invited me to talk a little about my work and art as well as myself. A nice choice of questions allowed me to also stride off the paths interviews normally go.

I had fun with this one. Interesting read! Check it out! Uh and yeah, that photo is 4 years old. I’m a much more hairy person now. Believe it!

Exposé 9

Expose 9

It’s time for a new release of Ballistic Publishing’s Exposé series. Now it’s book number 9 and again I was one of the lucky guys (and gals) to become featured in it. Again i’m indeed very happy and honoured to be a part of this exclusive group of people who made it into the book. Again a lot of the work in the book is very familiar. I’ve seen it over the past couple of years online and it all inspired me in one or another way. To be featured along with these works is of course a great feeling. My home categories in the books always were Matte Painting and Science Fiction. This time I even got two pieces into the book. One in both categories. Which is a great motivation to keep on doing what i’m doing. Becoming better in what I do. (Hopefully!)

Now as usual every artist who makes it into the book gets a free copy of the book. A very generous gesture since the quality we’re talking about is really really good. Superb print quality and you really know you have something worthful in your hands when you grab it. I got the hard cover and bought a limited edition. I always buy me the extra leather bound version of the book when i make it into the book. Right now I have quite a collection of these books and it’s always great seeing them. Print quality, page setup, overall layout and last but not least the work that’s featured in it… perfect quality. All the different categories in the book feature artists from around the world. With work that surely and with no doubt belongs to the best digital art you can get these days.

The Luminarium Exhibit #15

The Luminarium Exhibit #15

Here it is! ‘Sequential’ is the topic of the latest Exhibit release by The Luminarium Artgroup. It’s #15 now and it comes with some nice material. My personal favourites are by Finn and 021. The pack again contains submissions from all kinds of artistic fields. Digital Art, Space Art, Abstract, Photography and Music. Of course i got a piece in the collection too. The topic gave me the opportunity to do something i had in my mind a while. A little shortstory in pictures. I called it ‘Endeavours Part One‘ since it’s only the first part of a series i might continue one day. I’ll release the single pics with their story parts soon. So long enjoy the great art!

3DArtist Issue 28 Article

3dArtist - 28

Even if Issue 29 is already out I wanted to write a short post that in Issue 28 is a nice article that might interest you all a bit. Available Here. The article is about how you can make money with your work online. It’s not about how to get commissions and work. It’s more about what possibilities you have to sell prints of your work, 3d models, textures… and so on. I was invited to talk a little about my prints experience while other high class artists like Stefan Morrell talk about their experience in selling 3d models and more. It’s quite an interesting read there. Of course there’s is more stuff and interesting things in the mag. Most importantly a nifty interview with Syd Mead.

The Blaize Chronicles Vol.1

The Blaize Chronicles Vol 1

The Blaize Chronicles

I recently created a cover for a just released ebook. The plan is to release the first part for free in ebook shape. The second book is almost done writing. They created a whole universe and, of course, are still working on a lot of things on many levels. Trying to grow a fanbase. The guys behind it invested a lot of time and work into the project and still continue to do so. Since only a part of the story is told now. There is more to come! These guys have a vision.

Now i rarely write about commissions but i want to take this chance to spread the word about the book. It might be something for you if you are a SciFi fan. So give it a shot if you’re having some spare time left.

The ebook download is free and can be found here.

Again i personally are very happy and honoured to be a part of this exclusive group of people who made it into the book. I know the work from some of these people a long time. Some of their stuff is always inspirational and i hope that my work can be that too.

DIGITALPhoto Photoshop Workshop

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

DIGITALPhoto Photoshop - 05/2010

Schaut mal rein. Es ist durchaus einen blick wert!
