A while ago i did a few concepts for a shortfilm project that is still in development. Basically it’s a fantasy story with some really nice ideas. Creator James Roberts now opened the website to the project with lots of nice infos. It’s worth a look!

Yet again it’s been a while with concept art gallery additions. Like stated in previous update posts i revamped the concept art gallery. It looked evil and should make a better impression now. Beside the structural update i also cleaned up the exhibited pics and added quite some new additions to the team. Everything quickies, sketches and just for fun. Hope it gives some inspiration to you guys. I can say that it would be a blast to fly around with some of the ships in there. :D

WordPress can be a b*tch. I tried to update to version 3.0 and of course it didn’t work out as planned. I’m happy i saved all important data to reconstruct the old setup. It’s partly my providers fault too since their running mysql version seems to be from the stone age. However… i’m sure there is a way to update all that. A little investigation is needed. Anyway. The concept art gallery is pretty much done. I still need to add some new stuff though. Most importantly i had to cut the main painting galleries again. Since my database can only handle a limited amount of data per page. It serves me a nice error message when it’s full. So i opened a new gallery for all upcoming personal projects. Stay tuned…! The new gallery gets filled soon enough.

It’s been a while since my last update on the site. The concept art gallery never looked really nice so i decided to update it over the next few days. Nothing special to be honest. I just want it to be a more pleasant viewing experience than it previously was. I will also take this opportunity to remove and add some pics. I hope it works out and will let you know when it’s done.

Phoenix Rising – it’s been quiet the last few weeks but busy in the background. Last november i started to work on something that turned out to be my benchmark painting for this year. It’s by far the biggest project i ever did and it covers pretty much everything i learned over the past 5 years. This march i started to really work on it and now it’s in its final stages. May was always the month of my big projects so i hope i can finish this up soon. It will include a great wallpaper pack as well as quite some background info to the project. So right now it’s more than 2 months of work on it. The painting is pretty much done but i have some plans for it and therefor i’ll wait with the release a bit longer.
Again it’s a futuristic cityscape. I don’t know why it’s my favourite theme keeping in mind how damn complicated it can be to create stuff like that. I guess i want to really master that field and with this project i guess i get close to mastering it. Last years CGChoice award win really pushed me to go a step further and i really did it. I hope you guys will agree when you see it because i don’t think i’ll attack such a big project any time soon again. So much work in it!
So much for this little report. Stay tuned! I hope to release the project by the end of may.

After some thinking over the past few weeks i decided to split up the galleries a bit. Usually i took some of my commission work into my standard galleries. Now i have a separate gallery for selected commissioned artworks. Since i always feel that commissioned work is different to the personal work. You have restrictions and descriptions to follow and your own ideas sometimes don’t work with the requested art. That can make commissions very difficult to execute. On the other hand it’s a nice challenge for your skills. =)

It’s time to make downloading of wallpapers even more comfortable than it already was! The future! New alternatives! New hopes! New dreams! Alright… enough advertising phrases for now. Windows 7 has that one unique feature that allows you do create your own Wallpaper Packs! People can download and doubleclick these and *kaboom* Windows automatically applies the pack and its settings! I really dig that. That’s why i decided to create some packs for selected artworks in my gallery from time to time. All at once would be boring right? ;) However. In these packs i try to cover all possible standard resolutions. So it’s surely worth a look. I thought that Fractal and Abstract pictures, which work magnificient as wallpapers, are the perfect start for this collection. For now you can find Themepacks for the following pieces:

Every once in a while it’s good to change something. I said it before and i’ll say it again. For now it’s a new operating system for my workhorse of a PC. Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit). Right now i’m in the final stages of setting up my hard drives and fixing technical issues. Basically everything is up and running. And it’s fast. Even after i filled up my drives with data. Lets see how fast this windows is when it worked for a few months. The past tells us that every windows slows down after a while. However. It’s a new system with some good changes and enhancements that will make the navigation through the data environment much more efficient. Looks like Microsoft got a few things right here. Hope they continue with that. Now i promise that there will be some more artistic stuff coming soon. Just wanted that operating system change done before i add new stuff to the site.
