THE CHASE II

D³SCR!PTION

Actually a quickie i did a few weeks ago. I felt like creating a similar pic to my first chase painting. This time a different style and environment. Main focus in this project was composition and a try to create a sense for speed. Since the cam here is following these flyers. Maybe this ‘chase’ thing will become a series…

I played with lots of elements to learn something more about composition. I removed most of these elements since they kind of disturbed the flow of the pic. Which means most of my tries, to create a ticky compo, were not too successful. Yes you’re absolutely right. The quality of that painting is not the best. I wanted to go for a dirty concept arty like look in this one. So don’t look for flaws in that painting… just let your eye and brain complete the loose parts.

PATH TO HEAVEN

D³SCR!PTION

Here we see something that is intended to be a vision of heaven. Green lands. Mountains. Mixed… with a bit fantasy. That was the goal. I think i reached it nicely. Not perfect from my pov… but i leave the final decision to you. I kinda like the final version.

Once again a lot of time went into this pic. I started with concept sketches. Tried a lot of things and invested some time into that stage. So i soon had a bunch of psds in my project folder. Which had 1,2gb in the end. Too much for my taste. However. Once i had a fitting idea and the client gave his ok, i started to work out the details. Added various elements and textures. My biggest problem were the buildings. The client wanted them clean… perfect. I’m one of those guys that likes to add a weathered look because that makes it look more realistic. Nonetheless the client wanted them to be shiny and bright. I tried my best. The result is pretty ok i think.

WHERE IS MY MIND

D³SCR!PTION

Well Well, my artistic sense told me to try myself on an abstract again. So i did. And i like the result. It looks so much better than my old tries and i tell you… the print looks totally awesome.

There’s not much to say technically. ~ Zygrael inspired me to this piece with one of his works. It’s rendered in bryce (4000×6000 and worked on that res in PS = hell of a print) and heavily altered with photoshop.
