Over the last few weeks i’m concentrating on an exhibition i’ll soon have in my old hometown bitterfeld, saxony – anhalt, germany the 4th july to 24th of august. This time it’s a pure photo exhibition about my captured beauty series. A dear friend of mine is organizing all the little details while i’m preparing the photos and presentation. Because of that i’m shooting up a few additions to my photo gallery over the next few days. This means tons of wallpaper too! =)

Over the past 4 weeks i got my editions of the latest release of the expose digital art book series. We are now on number 6. In #6 i was lucky enough to become featured with my ‘long way home‘ matte painting. Once again i have to say that i’m very proud to have my art right next to some very very talented people’s work. It’s a book of dreams. All the worlds and ideas you see within the art really captures you and is a great source of inspiration.

Again i recognized a lot of work in the book that i saw on communities like cgsociety or deviantart earlier. Lots of fellow artists made it into the book and i want to congratulate them on this occasion.

The books themselves are made of a great quality which makes them really worth their cash. I even got me some gloves that i use when i skim through the pages of the books. I don’t want to ruin the quality too soon.

Philip Jose Farmer is a very well known fantasy author which surely plays in one league with sir tolkien. The most successful books he wrote were the ‘riverworld’ ones which were released 1971. So far he wrote over 70 books and 100 short stories in his long career, which started in the late 1940s and won several highly respected awards.

A well known design studio, here in germany, knocked on my door and asked for the rights on a pic to use it on the german re-release of the riverworld books. Book one to be precise. I’m pretty proud about that.

Yesterday i found out that a dear friend of mine finally got a release date for his digital art book. I’m talking about gary tonge. He’s somehow one of my main inspirations and one reason why i’m doing what i’m doing today. It’s been a while since the meet the inspiration interview i did with him but i’m glad to see an artist like him spreading the word out there. That ‘digital’ doesn’t necessarily means ‘easier’ to do. His book will make clear that there is still a lot of work involved. That it is still ‘art’ we are doing there. It all follows the same rules and needs the same ingredients. Patience, passion and a will to learn for, probably, forever.

Today i decided to remove some long time errors on the page. Lots of links got repaired and should work properly now. Especially in the galleries. I repaired the printshop links above every pic. So you can get to the shop from there by clicking on my logo. Aside of that i added fullview links to the every pic for the pages when you click on the comments button. Also repaired some dead links. I’m glad to have that done now. Nonetheless there still seem to be some layout errors in the galleries from time to time. Especially when using InternetExplorer. I’m sorry for that.

Yesterday was a special day for me. Even if lots of things are not going too well recently. Yesterday was special. I received my copy of the latest book in ballistic publishing’s exposé series. The cool thing about it is that my painting. ‘the falls’, is featured in this book’s matte painting category. The sheer amount of talent in that book really blows me away and makes me really feel like an artist. There truly is no better book for digital art enthusiasts available out there. I got myself the leather limited edition. Just because the leather edition for artists, who made it in the book, is even more special than the leather edition available on their site. So there are only veeery few of them on this planet. The book came with certificate and everything… it looks delicious and i could fall in love with it. Seriously!

I also recognized a lot of amazing work in the book that i earlier saw on communities like cgsociety or deviantart. Lots of fellow artists made it into the book and i want to congratulate them on this occasion.

Now it’s time to feel a little bit proud. It was a long road…
