Myriada 8k Mountain Heightfield Package

This is the fourth heightfield resource/asset I created. For $11,99 the contents of this package are intended for personal and commercial projects. Beside the main terrain (8192×8192, 16bit) itself, this package contains a collection of masks (16bit) and colormaps (8bit) that allow you to go into very fine detail when giving the terrain character by adding textures and materials. As usual I have also added some custom made material, I had fun with while creating the terrain, as well. It’s best used with landscape centered tools like Vue or Terragen but can also be used with any other sophisticated 3d package that’s out there. I also included a Vue scene file with an example setup of the terrain. Vue might ask you to reload the materials when you load the scene. Please check the included readme.txt for more info about the contents. Have fun with it! :)

Into The Distance - Webinar

Here a couple of infos to the upcoming Digital Art Live Webinar next Saturday & Sunday. In our past webinars we used to go for a more theory based approach. I talked about the creative process of how one of my artworks was done. In the upcoming Webinar we decided to for a more organic and practical approach. Not just talking about stuff… but also showing how it’s done. Therefore we scheduled two shows since it will definitely take a little more time to go through the various things. There will be a couple of shortcuts here and there but we will cover the main aspects of the scene in detail. Of course feedback and questions throughout the show are welcome and will be covered and discussed if possible.

The best thing about it? It’s FREE!

If you are interested and you want to participate go here and register for the event. The webinar will take place in a Fuze meeting and you will get all info via email. You need to install the client software but you don’t require an account to attend the Webinar! You will also get the room number via email before the show starts.

Tigaer-Design Calendar 2018

Alrighty. Here we go again. As some of you might have noticed, I took a break last year. I took the time to create some new stuff that you will, of course, find a selection of in this new calendar. I couldn’t resist and put some oldie goldies in there as well though. Some of my all-time favs and perhaps new all-time favs. =) Hope you enjoy the selection, which may help you make yourself (or a loved one) a cool neat christmas present. =)

Nok Tiris Walkthrough Webinar

Here a couple of infos to the upcoming Digital Art Live webinar (next Saturday) where I explain the creative process to my Nok Tiris project. Originally created for a shortfilm I used a mix of 3d and 2d techniques. Using Vue helped to setup the scene and general mood. The webinar will take place in a Fuze meeting and you will get all info via email. You need to install the client software but you don’t require an account to attend the webinar! If you decide to take part in the upcoming webinar you will also receive an HD recording of the ‘From Here I Can Almost See The Stars’ webinar for free. It’s a scifi cityscape project where I already covered a lot topics in regards to post work for example. So in the ‘Beasts Shall Rise’ webinar I plan to go into more Vue/3d related material. There is a lot of ground to cover and time flies when talking about these projects. It’s insane. :D So below you find a list with topics I plan to go into. Or better ‘hope’ to go into before the time runs out. I want to make clear though that it’s a project walkthrough and not a tutorial. Even though I plan to go into some practical stuff here and there.

Introduction:

Inspiration, Composition, Used Elements

Exploring The Scene:

Setup within Vue, Terrain, City, Dragons

Terrain Manipulation:

The Photoshop File and 16bit

The City:

Closer look at the setup

The Dragons:

Working with DAZStudio & Vue

Photoshop:

Last but not least we'll take a quick look into Photoshop and how the post work brought everything together.

See you there!
